Simplon Pass Musher

Experience a unique winter adventure with your group amidst the snowy landscape of the Simplon Pass - with real sled dogs, fresh mountain air and plenty of action.

At the meeting point, you will get to know our huskies, guides and equipment. You will receive an interactive safety briefing and familiarise yourself with the procedure.

Before you set off, you will practise in small groups with an empty sled - without a husky. This will give you a first feel for steering, braking and balance. These dry runs not only make sense, but are also great fun!

Then it gets serious: two teams are on the track at the same time. While you drive, the others support you as dog handlers - they help harness the huskies, hold the lines and secure the start.

You drive your own team of 2 - completely on your own responsibility. The guide rides ahead with another team, but cannot accompany you directly.
WSA marshals will be available along the route if you need help or assistance.

During the journey, you take responsibility for your two huskies - and for yourself.
It's intense, authentic and guaranteed to be unforgettable!

Weather and trail:

  • Our sled dog events take place in the beautiful subalpine area of the Upper Valais. Please note that weather conditions can vary greatly during the winter season.
  • The weather can change quickly and there may be unexpected storms or an increased risk of avalanches.
  • Trail conditions also play a decisive role. The prerequisites for a rideable trail are at least 10 cm of packed snow (comparable to cross-country ski trails), no major icing and no deep slushy snow.

For these reasons, we need your mobile phone number where we can reach you on the day of the event in case of last-minute changes.

Drive yourself - become a musher!

During this experience, you will become a musher yourself and experience the fascinating world of pulling dogs up close. After a comprehensive introduction and the first dry runs with the sled, you will get to know our huskies and prepare for the adventure together with our guides.
You will then drive your own team of 2 on a circuit. An experienced team will drive in front of you to help you stay on the right track and ensure a safe experience.

  • Take responsibility: Our huskies are not just working animals, but important members of our family. At this event, we attach great importance to you handling the huskies responsibly and having the confidence to work with them.
